Suver Wins US Cross Country Championships

Mattie Suver (Asics) crushed the final 2k loop to win the 2016 US Cross Country Championships in dominating fashion in Bend, OR, on Saturday.
Suver opened up a 7-second lead on runner-up Amy Van Alstine and never looked back, winning her first US national title over the rugged 10k course, finishing in 36:38.
With the win, Suver punched her ticket for her eighth US national team, qualifying for the Pan American/NACAC Cup Cross Country Championships to be held in Caraballeda, Venezuela March 04. She picked up $4000 for the win, and another $1000 bonus for her acceptance of the Team USA spot.
On the men's side, Hillary Bor led the U.S. Army to the team title

with his 8th-place finish, with brother Emmanuel in 9th and brother Julius in 18th.
