Metivier Baillie and Dey Re-Join ADP; Jepleting Joins

Renee Metivier Baillie (Mizuno) and Dey Dey have rejoined the American Distance Project. Baillie was an original member of the ADP in 2011, but never trained with the group as she was rehabilitating from surgery at the U.S. Olympic Training Center at the time. Baillie, who has personal bests of 4:10.85 for 1500m, 8:59.39 for 3,000m, 15:15.78 for 5,000m and 2:27:17 for the marathon, started back with the ADP after a disappointing Olympic Marathon Trials in February. She is part owner of Recharge an athletic recovery business in Bend, OR, and will stage frequent training camps in Colorado Springs. She plans to debut at the 10,000m distance at the Payton Jordan Invitational in May in hopes of qualifying for the U.S. Olympic Team Trials.

Dey Dey, who set a Colorado-soil mile record of 3:53.7 as a member of the ADP in 2013, returns to the ADP but will train in Iten, Kenya under the tutelage of Renato Canova, who, after resigning his position of Head Distance Coach of China, has returned to Kenya to direct the training of world record holder Florence Kiplagat, Olympic medalist Thomas Longosiwa, Jarius Birech, Silas Kiplagat and others.

Caroline Jepleting is the newest addition to the American Distance Project. Jepleting, a nurse in the U.S. Army now stationed at Ft. Carson, recently finished 10th at the U.S. Cross Country Championships. A middle-distance runner in college with personal bests of 2:05.16 for 800-meters and 4:19.77 for 1500-meters, Jepleting has begun to find success at longer distances as she was the runner-up at the Army 10-Miler in 2015 with a time of 56:34.
