2018 ADP Winter Middle Distance/Steeplechase Online Coaches Camp Announced; Olympian Clayton Murphy’s Coach Lee LaBadie Featured After three successful onsite and one successful online coach mentoring camps, the ADP announces the 2018 ADP Winter Middle Distance Online Coaches Camp.

The online mentoring camp, to be held January 2-3, 2018, will feature Lee LaBadie, coach of 2016 800-meter Olympic bronze medalist Clayton Murphy, and American Distance Project / US Army World Class Athlete Program coach Scott Simmons. The camp will follow a similar protocol with two separate live two-hour online GoToMeeting.com presentations from the two coaches detailing LaBadie’s 800-meter & 1500-meter coaching philosophy and Simmons’ steeplechase coaching philosophy, followed up with coaches choosing one-on-one mentoring sessions with either coach. The express goal of the online coaches camp is to create a realistic workable and actionable training plan for a high school, college or professional coach’s specific team or athlete. Labadie was responsible for the development of Clayton Murphy, who’s remarkable 2016 was capped with an unheralded Rio Olympic 800-meter bronze. Under LaBadie’s guidance, Murphy developed as a University of Akron student-athlete to win both the 2016 NCAA Indoor 800m and 2016 Outdoor 1500m, as well as the US Olympic Trials 800m, while also posting impressive marks of 1:42.93 and 3:36.23, respectively. Simmons’ steeplechasers have excelled as well, with Simmons coached athletes taking three of the top five spots in the 2017 US championships, including Stanley Kebenei, who’s summer mark of 8:08.30 ranks him as the second fastest steepler in US history. In 2016, Hillary Bor surprised with a runner-up finish at the US Olympic Trials, going on to make the Rio final and finishing 7th, before posting an 8:11.82, making him the 6th fastest in US history. Over the last two years, the ADP Coaches Camp has benefitted over 30 coaches who have reported exceptional team and individual successes from the custom training programs, including state titles, NCAA championships and Team USA qualifiers. The 2018 ADP Winter Middle Distance Online Coaches Camp tuition is $550, with no travel expenses needed, but spots are limited to twelve coaches. For more information and to register, click here:
